About us

It all officially began when Lewis Lawless bought his first hot tar kettle in 1954. That’s what he needed to repair and replace built-up roofs for schools and businesses in Jackson and Josephine counties – but technically, it started much earlier, when Lew was renting a house that needed a new roof. He learned how to do it on the spot and struck up a deal with his landlord – the rest, as they say, is history. A kind-hearted man who believes in an honest day’s pay for an honest day’s work, Lew Lawless started his business because the schools needed roofs and he knew how to build them. Simple as that.

Today, Lawless Roofing boasts an impressive and long list of satisfied customers, including school districts, county offices, and large commercial businesses throughout the Rogue Valley – some of which we’ve been serving for decades! The bottom line is this: Lawless Roofing is second to none. We stand behind our work and promise to deliver a high-quality product that exceeds manufacturing standards, at a fair price. Our experienced, courteous team is committed to safety and takes pride in what we do.

Team & Bios

Try as we might, we just can’t keep Lew off the roof. After over 65 years in business, he’s still the heart and soul of the business and we’re grateful for it.

President, Owner and Founder
Don joined the Lawless team to work with his father in 1972 and now devotes most of his time to cattle ranching. He fills in for Lew as needed and is always available to help the business run smoothly.

Don Lawless

Owner and Secretary
Doug grew up working alongside his father in the sheet metal business and provided most of the Lawless Roofing sheet metal work until 2004 when he brought his shop to us after his father passed away. He has worked closely with Lew for decades and never skimps on quality. Doug will take great care of you through the bidding process and will pass you off to George once the project is approved.
